The percentage usually varies from 40 to 60%. Naturally, the less down payment is made, the higher are the monthly payments. Monthly payments are usually made over a period of 12 to 18 months. This method of payment is a courtesy provided by the office and does not correspond to the length of treatment. Even if an appointment is missed one month, the payment is still due.
Payment in Full
If a payment is made in full, there is usually a (5%) discount, since there is less clerical work involved. Insurance - Most offices accept insurance payment directly. This, of course, reduces the patient's financial obligation. However, should the insurance
coverage discontinue without fulfilling its original financial commitment, it then becomes the patients responsibility to pay the balance. Some insurance companies reduce the benefit amount if the insured does not go to a plan provider. Be sure to check your benefits booklet and confirm whether or not your choice of orthodontists is limited.
